Job Title: Senior Executive- Business Development

Reporting line: Department Head

This function is based out of Delhi, in our Head office. The company shall add/remove locations based on the individual’s capability and company’s requirements.

Role Background:

The Senior Executive-Business Development reports to the Department Head and contributes by effectively generating business for the company. The vertical-B2B, works for different private clients including Corporates, NGOs, Foundations, Banks, Consumers etc. There are diverse projects which are undertaken by the vertical, including off-grid solar pumping solutions installed for individual consumers, off-grid pumping solutions for the community, solar pumping solutions for village-level entrepreneurs, setting up  agri-centric micro and mini grids, irrigation-as-a-service etc.

The end-user of our solar water pumping system is a farmer. Our job is to identify creative routes to reach out to them, for their benefit. We build partnerships and associations to increase our market presence. The organization is building teams to undertake various challenging market potentials and establish itself synonymous to Solar Water Pumping.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The Senior Executive Sales –performs a wide range of duties including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Be responsible for generating leads for institutional sales/ corporate sales
  • Reach out to corporate clients and pitch the solution to them as an intervention of Corporate Social Responsibility Projects
  • Reach out to related NGOs/ Foundations and make sales pitch
  • Reach out to Agri Business organizations and build synergies
  • Prepare the sales pitch docket
  • Understand client’s problem and propose solutions
  • Develop and build data base of potential clients
  • Assist the Head of Department in various marketing and sales initiatives
  • Competition mapping and analysis
  • Financial modelling
  • Take initiative for new projects and assist the department head in planning and execution
  • Responsible for generating business and act as a single point of contact for the client
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  • Make proposals
  • CRM management
  • Coordination with internal teams and cross functional teams
  • Documentation control and reporting
  • Reporting-MIS internal and external
  • Networking

 

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • The candidate should at least have a graduate degree preferably in Agriculture or an Engineer in Agriculture/Energy/ Electrical .
  • MBA Marketing/ Finance / Agri Business Management will be preferred

Experience:

2-4 years of experience in a business development/ sales role in the solar energy sector

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Excellent IT skills to include wide experience of word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Excel spreadsheet knowledge is very important
  • Experience marketing of capital intensive products
  • Knowledge of Contracts/ RFP/ Agreements
  • Integrity is of utmost importance
  • Should be willing to travel and stay in rural areas
  • Self confident and reliant person
  • Ability to use theoretical knowledge into practical application
  • Ability to accept challenges and showcase performance
  • Strong analytical skills to drive channel performance and drive profitability
  • The individual should be enterprising
  • Ability to work in a team environment
